Anyone have any suggestions for a beginner with making jewelry with beads?
I am just purchased a kit for lampwork and I am interested in other beading products and jewelry making tips? Any tips would be appreciated.
Books & Magazines! I have been making jewelry with hemp and beads for years and just recently started branching out to work with wire and metals. I didn't even know what eyepins were used for until I grabbed a book or two. The "for dummies" series has some really great beading/jewelry making books with simple instructions and projects that give a lot of inspiration for more difficult projects. There's a great website with supplies, I think its called fire mountain gems & beads, they also have project ideas and instructions. Look in fashion magazines and see what's shown - if you take a close look at some of the pieces you can figure out how they're made. feel free to e-mail if you have more questions about it, I'll try to help the best I can!

I have bought a few its to create beading. Look in many stores that have hobby guides & also beading locations on the comp. You can also look at their e-mail & phone #'s. It's fun & you can even add to your clothing different beads!

Start with some simple stringing projects, like a bracelet and matching necklace. Practice your knots, and finishings.

Beading magazines are a great source to learn techniques and to get some awesome ideas! If you have a Michaels or Pat Catans near you check with them to see what kind of beading classes they offer.
The best advice I can give you from personal experience is to invest in a good set of beading tools such as pliers, crimpers, and a tool to open up the center of the bead some more – a beading mat is also good to invest in

You can also try your hand at making your own beads. Hobby Lobby in particular has some decent kits, and Fimo canes are pretty simple to make.
