are you using pliers to squeeze the crimp beads flat? they need to be flattened to the point that any harder you would end up cutting it with the pliers!!
i would try leaving a little extra wire on the other side of the loop you are crimping – sometimes if you cut that too short, it will slide out, making the clasp fall off. You may also want to try some different wires – i love tiger tail, i’ve had problems with a lot of others!
you may also want to check the websites for michael’s and joann’s – they have a lot of resources on jewelry making!
best of luck!

you need to make sure that you are crimping correctly..that the wires are not overlapping inside the crimp ….but are laying parallel to one another….ALSO….you need the right materials
(forget that tigertail crap! (sry previous answerer!)…SOFT-FLEX is MUCH better…AND…use STERLING SILVER crimp TUBES…not plated…and not the beads…this makse a much better close!..there is also a new product called the twisted tornado crimp that requires no tools…that may be another thing you want to check out!….let me know if i can help any more….good luck!. (pitiful but i am working on it…lol)

Have you tried a product called “Tornado” crimps? They look like a crimp tube, but they have diagonal “stripes” and you don’t have to fold them over to get them to hold the wire.
Here’s more information:
And yes, DO NOT USE tiger tail, it is crap!
Good Luck!
